  Stopped by here with my wife during happy hour and had drinks and appetizers at the bar. The calamari and pork belly plates we had were both excellent. The cocktail, wine and beer selection were all good. The bar is very nice and has a great old time upscale feel, and the staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional.

  I had a beautiful lunch here and can't wait to go back. The staff was extremely pleasant and friendly. I ordered the cup of butternut squash soup and it was the perfect light lunch. The soup tasted phenomenal. One of the best tasting butternut squash soup's I've had and it was served at just the right temperature. Inside, the restaurant is just breathtaking. There's exposed brick on the walls, old black and white movies projected onto the wall, plush chairs, an open kitchen, a large bar in the middle and a dark but comforting atmosphere.

  Were in town on a look-see, relocating to Columbus. This place drove us to open our eyes and consider Westerville, where we ultimately have purchased (in escrow now!).
  
  8State is a successful combination of a great, unique setting, with an owner whose heart is totally in it, featuring great staff and terrific/inventive food at fair prices.
  
  Seriously, this place made us think: if a jewel like this can exist and find support in Westerville, we want to live here.
